Veronika Löbhard-Steber / Christiane Googenmos
As well as being very good friends Veronika (standing) and Christiane (Sitting) are both respectively culture and theater educationalists. Since 2013 they have combined their talents and passions as ‘The VisioNärrinen’ (a german word-play on ‘visionaries’ and fools) running mask making workshops for a very diverse public; including school children, pensioners, businesses and asylum seekers.
Each mask is first modelled in clay, then covered in papier mâché before being painted and decorated. The mask a person makes, they say, helps them to know themself.
The Visionärrinen are shown here as ‘Bird’ and ‘Dora’ in the oldest building in the village of Finning where they also ran their first workshop for 13 village Children in 2009.
