Olga’s family came to Germany from Kazakstan with ‘late repatriate’ (Spätaussiedler) status in 1993 four years after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Previously it had been very difficult for German nationals to leave the Soviet Union. Willy worked at a local Blinds manufacturer and Olga trained as a hairstylist for three years. She has two soft-spots; one for her father, cutting his hair from time-to-time, the other for shoes, having at one time a collection of 110 pairs.

Im Jahr 1993 kam Olga zusammen mit ihrer Familie aus Kasachstan nach Deutschland. Die Spätaussiedler entschlossen sich vier Jahre nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer zu diesem großen Schritt. Zuvor war es quasi unmöglich die Sowjet-Union zu verlassen. Willy arbeitete als Handwerker und Olga machte eine Ausbildung zur Friseurin. Sie hat zwei Faibles, eines für ihren Vater, dem sie von Zeit zu Zeit die Haare schneidet und eines für Schuhe – ihre Sammlung besteht momentan aus 110 Paaren.
